"My name is Marlene Schuberg and I have been working with St. Mary Magdalen Christian Services for almost fifty years. For the last thirty-five of those years, that has involved overseeing the food pantry run by our organization. The job has become challenging as we now have few volunteers and we were in danger of having to close our operation. Albert came forward in November of 2024, and was eager to help in any way that he could. He stepped in to begin helping at the holidays, our busiest time of year. His help was invaluable as he was there for our huge Thanksgiving food giveaway and helped with our Christmas gift giveaway to seniors and children. His help was also needed during the weeks following a fire which devastated many homes in our city. Albert can be relied upon to be there every Monday for the food sorting and distribution, and he has also been more than willing to come to work on any other day if there is a need that must be addressed.
